93,000,000 Miles

To travel a mile up in the air, that's a long way, or so it seems. One mile can often be confused with a distance that is too far to walk. Life can seem this way sometimes, "too far to walk." Seventy-five plus years sure does seem like a long time. Perhaps a larger perspective is needed when there is an urge to waste time. It's hard to remember the shortness of a life. Maybe it's better not to think about eternity. After traveling one mile into the sky there is still 92,999,999 more miles to be traveled until you reach the sun! The distance of one mile that at first seemed so long, is essentially nothing. So, what is one life in the face of eternity? How differently life would be if the shortness of it couldn't be forgotten?
